The Orthodox Celts vor canta pentru prima data in Romania la Serbarile Bistritei Medievale!

Iunie 28, 2012

Sambata, 30 iunie, Menestrelii veacului XXI la Serbarile Bistritei medievale vor fi sarbii de la Orthodox Celts, trupa care va concerta in premiera in Romania.

Orthodox Celts sunt o trupa de Celtic Folk Rock fondata in 1992 in Serbia.

Trupa a lansat pana acum 5 albume: Orthodox Celts (1994), The Celts Strike Again (1997), Green Roses (1999), A Moment Like The Longest Day (2002) si One, Two… Five (2007).

In plus, trupa a lansat si cateva videoclipuri.

The Orthodox Celts au sustinut nenumarate concerte, atat in Serbia, cat si in Europa.

Salut Bistrita!

Serbările Bistriţei medievale 2012 sunt organizate de Primaria Municipiului Bistrita, Centrul Cultural Municipal  “George Cosbuc” si de Asociaţia Culturală Bistriţa Medievală.

The Orthodox Celts

Live in Bistrita – Romania

June 30 – 2012

Orthodox Celts are a Celtic Folk Rock band from Serbia, founded in 1992. Over the past 20 years, as the first Irish band in Eastern Europe, the Orthodox Celts have popularized Irish Music and culture at the highest levels. Fantastic concerts with excellent performances and positive atmosphere, brought their faithful audience to follow them in their shows, creating an army of fans.

The band has released five albums:

„Orthodox Celts“ (1994)

„The Celts Strike Again“ (1997)

„Green Roses“ (1999)

„A Moment Like The Longest Day“ (2002)

„One, Two… Five“ (2007)

Despite their unusual music, since their founding in 1992 they have been one of the most popular bands in Serbia. Their music led to a popularization of Irish and Celtic music and other aspects of Irish and Celtic culture in Serbia, especially football. The band members are fans of the Glasgow Celtic F.C., and most of the band’s fans are too.

The band started their career with traditional Irish songs and, gradually, introduced more and more of their own material. All their songs are in English (or as they say, in the Irish language), but the group has composed some purely instrumental songs as well. In addition, the band has released several videos.

The Orthodox Celts have toured in and outside their country, including a sold out St.Patrick’s Day Gig 2000 in the Sava Center (one of the largest concert halls in Serbia), several full packed EXIT Festival gigs and absolutely unique shows at every Belgrade Beer Fest since it’s very beginning, mostly in front of over 100.000 people. They also performed in European countries like Greece, Macedonia, Italy, Bosnia, Hungary, Slovenia, Montenegro and Switzerland, a show in Sweden being announced for July 2012.

This time, Orthodox Celts are moving boundaries again as they play for the first time at a pure medieval festival, taking their music one step further. Their show on June 30 at Serbarile Bistritei Medievale will also be their first appearance in Romania!
